Claire Traynor
B.Sc., C.Chem., M.R.S.C.
After graduating in 1993 with the degree of B.Sc. with Honours
in Chemistry from the University of St. Andrews, Claire accepted
a role as an Assistant Chemist with Tayside Regional Council Water
Services. She joined Mylnefield Research Services in 1995, as
an Analytical Chemist, when the Lipid Analysis Unit was first
established in Dundee. In 1999, Claire became the Senior Analyst,
and In April 2000 she was promoted to Head of the M.R.S. Lipid
Analysis Unit.
Claire was awarded chartered chemist status of the Royal Society
of Chemistry in 1997.
Claire is an experienced analytical chemist, responsible for
day-to-day running of the laboratory, maintaining high analytical
standards, and training and supervision of staff. She has considerable
experience of chromatographic techniques, including GC and HPLC.
In addition, Claire participates in EU funded projects and undertakes
method development for commercial applications.
