About Mylnefield Research Services

Mylnefield Research Services Limited (MRS) was established in 1989 as the commercial arm of the Scottish Crop Research Institute (SCRI).

The primary function of MRS Ltd. is to market products, services, intellectual property and the expertise of both MRS Ltd. & SCRI scientists.

MRS Ltd. acts as the gateway to a variety of skills unique within the UK biological, agricultural and horticultural research services.

MRS Ltd. is situated near Dundee on the east coast of Scotland.

MRS Ltd. set up Mylnefield Lipid Analysis in October 1995 through an amalgamation between the Lipid Units of the Scottish Crop Research Institute and the University of St. Andrews.

SCRI is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for lipid research and analysis. There is considerable lipid research expertise including the use of HPLC and GCmass spectrometry for the analysis of lipids. The facilities are housed in new, well-equipped laboratories.

Product analysis is regularly undertaken for international companies of all sizes both in the UK and overseas who require independent and reliable data for regulatory purposes.

One of the largest growth areas for Mylnefield Lipid Analysis is the analysis of clinical and pharmaceutical samples.

Small projects with a substantial research content have become an increasing part of the programme.
